LAHORE: An 11-day book sale was launched at the Lahore Expo Centre on Thursday with a unique feature of it being open for the book readers 24 hours, non-stop from April 19 to April 29.

Titled the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale, it was launched by the Punjab Minister for Higher Education and Tourism Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfraz while the founder of the book sale, Andrew Yap, as well as the organizer, Awais Akhtar Butt, were also present. The event is also supported by local organisations such as the Punjab Group of Colleges, Association for Academic Quality and Slumabad.

The sale will go on for 11 days, starting at 9am on April 19 till 11:59pm on April 29 at Hall 3 of the Expo Centre, Johar Town. The entrance is free. Thursday was dedicated to special visitors and the book readers who had won special entry cards before the public opening of the book sale.

At the launch of the event, Andrew Yap said reading was a tool to help understand the world better and create broader perspectives. He said his aim was to make affordable books accessible to the people to encourage the habit of reading.
