[Daily Times 19 November 2019] Nawaz Sharif has arrived at Lahore airport’s Haj Terminal, from where he will travel abroad for medical treatment in an air ambulance that arrived from Doha early morning.

The air ambulance arrived in Lahore from Doha early morning. A large number of PML-N workers gathered to bid farewell to Nawaz Sharif.

Maryam Nawaz accompanied her father to see him off. Nawaz’s personal physician Dr. Adnan Khan also arrived at the airport with Nawaz, where PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif had already arrived. Party leaders including Ahsan Iqbal were also present to see off the former prime minister.

Nawaz will be accompanied abroad by his personal physician Dr. Adnan Khan and party president Shehbaz Sharif.  Raja Zafarul Haq, Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Asif, Marriyum Aurangzeb will be at the Hajj lounge to see off the former prime minister. Sources further said 21 senior PML-N leaders have been allowed to go till the Hajj lounge at the airport.

According to a private source, Nawaz’s medical files have been handed over to the medical team that will be travelling with the former prime minister in the air ambulance.

PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said doctors had conducted a medical test in the morning.

“If Nawaz Sharif had left 15 days earlier, then his treatment would have already started by now,” Aurangzeb said. “Nawaz will be taken to US for treatment.”

We will consult the doctors in London and then take a decision, she said, adding Nawaz was kept on high dose medicine for 15 days.

Aurangzeb further shared that in the absence of Nawaz and Shehbaz, party affairs will be handled by the senior leadership of the PML-N.

An intensive care unit (ICU) and an operation theatre have also been set up in the air ambulance and a team of doctors and paramedics will also be on board.
